Three reggae artists are paying tribute to Jamaican athletes with a song titled simply, `Black, Gold & Green. CARIBWORLD
Reggae artists - Elvis D, Sheila Hylton and Lushy Banton, who all reside in the New York and New Jersey area, pooled their resources to write and record the song titled this past weekend.
The three say the song is in tribute to the spectacular global achievements of Jamaican athletes and the role of Team Jamaica Bickle, the non-profit organization that hosts and supports athletes at the annual Penn Relays.
The song, the singers hope, will inspire those athletes racing at this year`s Penn Relays.
A video for `Black, Gold & Green` was shot Sunday at the Axiom Studios in Newark, NJ and will be released shortly.
For the past 16 years, Team Jamaica BickleĀ has been at the forefront of caring for Jamaican athletes, who make the annual trek to the Penn Relays, the leading U.S. track and field event for high school, college and Olympic-level athletes, at the University of Pennsylvania.
This year, TJB is also hosting some fifty students from Trinidad & Tobago.
